Preschool
Philosophy
Seton Preschool is committed to educating the whole child in an age-appropriate manner. We believe that the child must have freedom to develop his or her physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions to the fullest. We have created a stimulating educational environment which will ensure that your child will build solid foundations for a lifetime. The environment will enable your child to like himself/herself; respect themselves as well as others; control their physical, emotional, and intellectual self; and most importantly, develop an eternal love for learning.
*Seton Catholic Preschool is a partner with the Ottumwa Public Schools in the Iowa Voluntary Preschool Grant. As such, four-year-olds who attend the half-day program attend tuition free. Four-year-olds who attend the all-day program pay half tuition. All teachers for the Seton Preschool are state certified and attend professional development on a regular basis to stay current in the latest trends/techniques in preschool education. Paraprofessionals are a part of each classroom in accordance with guidelines set by the state. We utilize the Creative Curriculum Gold which has been approved for use as a part of the grant.
Preschool Round-Up is held each spring. Parents interested in enrolling their child in preschool at Seton should call the school and have their name put on a contact list. This will assure them of receiving the communication about Round-up and enable them to attend to register their child(ren). Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. However, families whose child(ren) already attend Seton Catholic School and/or Seton Preschool, are given first chance at open slots. Class size is limited to 20 students.
